Tiny red or blue vessels can be cosmetically unpleasing and appear on both men and women due to aging, sun damage, and extended lengths of strain on the body. Fortunately, laser vein therapy has revolutionized treatment so that facial and leg vessels can be virtually erased. This procedure has little to no down time and involves minimal discomfort to our clients.
The non-invasive treatment of unsightly leg veins is one of the most requested, yet challenging of aesthetic procedures. Because of the various diameters, depths and pressures found with these vessels, their treatment often requires a wide range of wavelengths, pulse widths and fluences. Using a combination of therapies, such as those included on the Harmony™ system, physicians are able to treat:
- Superficial and deep telangiectasias (venulectasias) and reticular veins (0.1 - 4.0 mm diameter.
- Telangiectatic matting and hemosiderin staining, usually associated with sclerotherapy.
In accordance with the principle of selective photothermolysis, these vessels can be selectively heated and collapsed without damaging surrounding, healthy tissue. Depending on the nature of the vessels, either the Nd:YAG or an AFT treatment head could be used to produce the desired effect.
Why Harmony™ is a good choice
Using a combination of 1064-nm laser light in conjunction with various broadband AFT treatment parameters has, in many cases, been shown to be more effective than laser alone. And the procedure involves no needles and involves minimal discomfort.
